Bio

Nikhil Pandhi, DO, MPH, is a board-certified and well-regarded orthopaedic surgeon at North Point Orthopaedics in Munster and Crown Point, Indiana.

Dr. Pandhi obtained his Master’s in Public Health from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health. Next, he attended Michigan State University School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic residency at POH Medical Center at Michigan State University.

During his fellowship in orthopaedic surgery sports medicine, Dr. Pandhi worked with professional athletes as assistant to the head team physicians from the Detroit Pistons, Detroit Red Wings, and Detroit Tigers at the Detroit Medical Center. He is grateful for his training under numerous highly regarded and respected orthopaedic surgeons.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM). He is on staff at five local hospitals.

Dr. Pandhi specializes in reverse total shoulder and anatomic total shoulder replacements, anterior hip replacements, total knee and partial knee replacements. Complex ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration, and minimally invasive surgery (arthroscopy) of shoulder, hip, knee and elbow are integral to his practice and of great interest.

As a sports medicine and joint specialist, Dr. Pandhi utilizes the latest scientific advancements. He has had great success with platelet-rich plasma injections, bone marrow aspirate injections, and hyaluronic acid injections. Dr. Pandhi is committed to exploring all options, only recommending surgery when it is the best option or necessary.

Dr. Pandhi’s grandfather inspired him to explore medicine as a career. The field of orthopaedics fascinated Dr. Pandhi due to his love for solving complex problems and working with others. Because of his patient-first ideology, Dr. Pandhi understands the urgency of injuries.

He ensures that injured workers, athletes, and others in pain are seen in his office within 24-48 hours. His ultimate goal is to get people back to health and function as quickly as possible. Dr. Pandhi also treats pediatric patients with sports injuries and broken bones and serves the local community's needs.

When Dr. Pandhi isn’t with patients, you will find him with his family. His three children are his greatest accomplishments and inspire him to see the world with open, clear eyes. He enjoys daily exercise, music, and coffee.

For fun, he plays guitar and spends quality time with his family. Dr. Pandhi’s passion in life is driven by the relationships he creates with his patients and the satisfaction he feels when his patients resume their lives. Ultimately, he feels grateful for being given the distinct privilege of getting people back to what they love to do and improving their quality of life.
